Bike Ride and a Riot of Roses

Larry took a couple days off work recently, and on July 31, we went on a nice bike ride on a trail that I've been wanting to ride on for ages! It's called the Sammamish River Trail, and it starts near the town of Bothell and goes south to Redmond. There are no streets to cross, just underpasses where you have to watch out for other riders and pedestrians, and also a park the trail goes through where you need to slow down and watch out for others. (A lot better than having to cross streets and needing to watch out for cars!) We started at a park in Bothell called Bothell Landing, and at convention this past week (more about convention later), I met a gal that lives close to that park and goes bike riding a lot. So we exchanged e-mail addresses, and maybe we'll get together to ride sometime during the day! (It is about a 45 to 50 minute drive from my house, so will probably have to try for a mid-morning morning ride to avoid rush hour traffic.) Here's a link to the trail website with more photos and a map: http://www.metrokc.gov/parks/trails/sammamishriver.html#

My roses really took off in July. They are the "mini" type of roses, but definitely not lacking in bloom power!
