Brisingr, Book 3 of the Inheritance Cycle

Just finished this book yesterday. The first two books are Eragon (was made into a movie--not very good, except for the dragon) and Eldest. The author, Christopher Paolini, lives in Montana, and is only in his early 20's. He was only 15 when he started working on the first book. He writes about elves, dwarfs, dragons, and other strange creatures, plus humans, all trying to get along (actually, usually at war) in a beautiful fantasy land called Alagaesia. Eragon is one of the main characters, along with his blue dragon, Saphira. Very good books!!! Can't wait for Book 4!
