I used to hike this mountain with my parents and sister when I was little. Back then it was called Squaw Peak, but it was renamed Piestewa Peak a few years ago, after a Native American soldier who was killed in Iraq. Anyway, it was a very difficult trail: 1.2 miles each way. Going up was very steep, and the trail was much rougher (more erroded) than it seemed to be when I was a child.

Hey! Looks like fun. Glad you had a good time. Sorry we didn't get to see you while you where down here. Squaw Peak looks fun. I've never been to it but Jims hiked it a few times. So has our dog, Flynn, with my father-in-law many years ago.
