Welcome back...

...to the messy nest that we can hardly wait to be an empty nest! Probably quite a few people have found my blog with its new address by now. I wanted something more anonymous, and originally I thought I'd use "the messy nest," but that and just "messy nest," turned out to be taken already. So had to go with an alternative url. (Actually, I'm surprised that "messy monkeys" wasn't already taken, too, since there must be a billion blogs out there.)

"The Mess, Part II" - Here is Messy Monkey #1. Since the main bath upstairs was a huge mess (which was always blamed on the other sister), she was using the downstairs powder bathroom as her dressing room for a while.

So it looked like this.

Finally, I got tired of it, made her and her sister take their stuff out, and started locking the door. The upstairs bathroom continued to be a mess.

When we heard we are having a sister worker overnight for Special Meeting, I got really mad. So she cleaned up the bathroom and is trying to keep it that way. Maybe Messy Monkey #1 is on the way to reform!

(Next time: Messy Monkey #2)

I've been known to tell them that if they didn't clean up their room, that I would, & I'll just get rid of anything I want to. I've weeded out daughter #2's room several times. She doesn't have a whole lot left!
I'm so tired of my kids throwing stuff around, I decided that if it doesn't mean any more to them than that, they don't really need/like it that well anyway! Threats sure don't seem to work! UGG!

Hi there...it's nice to hear from you...yes, nice little chat at Milltown...enjoyed being there for a couple days...now we're back home in AZ...tho hope to come up to Seattle during Christmas...looks like we'll even make it in time for special mtg. on the 21st...Checked out your blog...nice pix...I'm just new on there and still learning all about blogging...but our daughter Anna and her hubby, Zane started theirs and so I decided to jump on the wagon and try one...our other two (the twins are 16 now also) and they have Blogs too. Sorry about the "messy monkeys" :-) I can't deal with messes in our house so it doesn't happen and if it does it doesn't stay that way...the kids know if "mama ain't happy, aint nobody happy"...fortunately, Tom is not a messy person...so we do just fine...I'm a "neat freak"! Did I gather by your blog that you're a runner and doing a triathalon???
