Crutches Again and Facebook

Crutches have once again "invaded" our house...for the 2nd year in a row! (Hope this isn't the beginning of a trend!) On the evening of Sunday, February 8, Rosanna ran down the stairs and into the living room and collapsed on the floor. A little later she said she couldn't put any weight on her right foot. On Monday we spent a few hours at the walk-in clinic getting x-rays, etc., and she was sent home with crutches and a big boot on her foot.

While we were sitting in the waiting room, I noticed that a small flat-screen TV had been added since the last time I was at that clinic. The sound was turned down fairly low, but the only chairs available in the very full room were in the area closest to the TV. Anyway, I was trying to ignore it...the Ellen DeGeneres Show was on, and I'd had enough of Ellen's face when I used to workout at a gym (that had lots of TVs) several years ago. But then suddenly, Ellen started to read from this letter (supposedly), something like this, "Dear Ellen, I'm addicted to Facebook..." and the letter went on to say how the writer's family was feeling neglected, etc. A little later, Ellen was talking about Facebook where you can post what you're doing, for example, "Ellen is getting ready for her show...." (etc.) I thought it was kind of interesting, because two days before I had just signed up with Facebook (I'd received an invitation from an old friend from high school). I have to say it's been kind of addicting this first week looking up people and adding friends; I had no idea so many people were on this thing. I have seven cousins (on Larry's side) included in my 25 (so far) friends! I have at least nine more people that I want to add, and I'm sure that finding more friends will continue and continue and continue....!

Sorry about the crutches! I'm enjoying facebook very much, but am trying not to over-spend my time there either. I love my blogging, it's more creative than FB, but not as interactive.

I agree with "The J's"...I also enjoy Facebook, but don't spend too much time on it. It's our own choices of how much time we spend or how we let ourselves become addicted....I check it out everyday sometimes, but other times I check it every few days or every week. But I do like creativity with the blogs. :-)
