Lots of packing....we found all kinds of "treasures" in my parents' house. Unfortunately, we had to leave a few things behind, as we ran out of room in our truck!

Glad you could enjoy your time here, and it HAS been very windy! I haven't run on the canal there. I think the canals can be a little boring, since there's not a whole lot going on there, so if I run somewhere else in the valley I look for more populated park type areas, just to have more to watch.
My last technology post - Thursdays- has a link to canal distances, you may be able to track your run there. The electric company owns the canals, so that's why they are so stark, and without facilities!
