Our Trusty Vehicles

Our 1996 Ford F250 diesel that we purchased in January 2002..... It has been a good truck, but diesel is so expensive now. Can hardly believe it was still cheaper than gasoline just a few years ago. Probably never again. This weekend we are going to go look at a 2006 Ford F250 with a V10. If we decide to purchase it, we'll be trading in our '96 truck. (Good-bye noisy, smelly green truck!)

Our 2002 Mercury Sable that we purchased in 2003.... It has been a pretty good car! This summer it had to have a "face job!" A truck with an odd trailer hitch backed up and hit the bumper, leaving a slightly jagged round hole on the driver's side. I should have taken a "before" picture...would have if I had known how wonderful our car would look with its new bumper....more like a new car! The old bumper had chips and a few scratches in the paint. Now almost could repaint the entire car, or at least the back bumper, to match the new bumper!

Here's a shot of the new bumper the day we picked it up from "Charlie's Collision 1" in Marysville on July 30.

To our surprise, not only did they wash the entire car on the outside, they detailed the inside! (Aah, the fragrance of freshly shampooed upholstery! Actually, I'm glad the scent dissipates fairly quickly.) Plus, on the passenger seat was a small "thank-you" card ("we appreciate your business"), and something wrapped in green with a ribbon which turned out to be a rose in its own tiny vase. Felt like our car had been at a spa or something!
