This spring, Larry and I were on Lopez Island for a day, and I was reminded of how beautiful the San Juan Islands are.... In the past, we made trips to
Orcas Island and San Juan Island as a family. Since I don't have any good photos of those islands, I searched online for photos that depict some of the best scenery that we enjoyed on those trips.
Coming into
Orcas Island on the ferry:
Crescent Beach:
Moran State Park - Observation Tower on the top of Mount Constitution:

Views from the tower: (These photos look almost exactly like the time we were there, which was in the fall.)

Mount Baker in the distance:

Rosario Resort - we toured the grounds and went inside the lobby and other common areas:

San Juan Island - Friday Harbor:

The Whale Museum:

This was a fun place to visit with Grandpa and Grandma when Rosanna was little.

View from Young's Mountain toward the west side of the island. An easy trail winds up to the summit of this mountain (more like a hill).

A beautiful area on the west side of the island is Roche Harbor.

Grounds around the
Haro Hotel:

Always lots of flowers, just like when we were there!

End of trip down memory lane!

This brings back memories. I remember the year I spent with Marian Thorburn going between Mt. Vernon, Anacortes and every week for the whole year we went out to Friday Harbor for 3 days each week (via the ferry) and had meetings out there. Special memories from so long ago ('82/'83). Looks like you had good days too! Always fun to go down "memory lane" too!
