See-Saw Spring

It's been an interesting spring so far. The beginning of April brought cool weather, rain...and snow in the mountains. On April 1, we stopped to see friends in Bellevue (on the way down south to visit Larry's dad). Here is the view of Lake Sammamish from their house with sample of some of this spring's dramatic clouds:

The following week, on April 8, we had quite a windy day. The next day on Friday afternoon, Larry and I went to the Centennial Trail to jog. I loved these puffy clouds behind a barn across the road from the trail head parking lot:

About 3 miles down the trail, it got very messy with numerous branches that had blown down in the wind:

Some big branches that came down:

The week after that it was nice and sunny, and on Monday, April 19, we had our high temperature of the year: 80 degrees! Then it cooled down again.... But on April 23rd, the sun was coming out in the afternoon, and I enjoyed these flowering trees in Marysville:

Nasty weather again on April 27--rain as seen through our front bay window:

Then came the month of May--it was like a repeat of the beginning April. More rain and more SNOW in the mountains--and a windstorm on the 3rd which knocked out power various places in the county. At our house, the power blipped out twice for a second, but otherwise stayed on. Haven't been to the Centennial Trail yet, but imagine there was quite a mess again. From the road passing the trail head near our house, I could see one alder tree down on Monday. Wonder what else in store as we head into late spring?
