Summer Fun - Picnics by Rivers & Mountains

First picnic of the summer - River Meadows Park near Arlington on a beautiful evening in late June.

After BQ-ed hamburgers, Larry and I went for a walk on the trails. This tree had a lot of moss on it!

The Stillaquamish River.

Exposed tree roots from when the river flooded a couple years ago.

Finally, we walked up top to the Yurt Village. We thought these were pretty cute.

The most luxurious one has a balcony overlooking the meadow below. The only thing is they're pretty expensive, and you still have go outside to a separate building to use the restroom!

On the evening of July 30, Larry and I headed up the Mountain Loop Highway to the Big Four picnic area, site of the historic Big Four Inn.
Here's Big Four Mountain in the evening sunshine:

Chef Larry is waiting for the hamburgers to cook!

The next day on Sunday, August 1, Larry, Caroline and I went down to Langus Riverfront Park in Everett for a little picnic. It was a hazy day--due to forest fires in B.C., I later found out.
This park has great views of the Snohomish River.

Lots of flowers and plants add to the prettiness of the park.
